Vista - "This program cannot display the web page" in WMP11 Album Info?

So basically i get this error when i want album info of a song/album:

I have done everything possible under my control...Set WMP11 as my default player..uninstalled programs that i thought might be interfering with WMP11 and uninstalled and reinstalled my anti virus/firewall. I cannot uninstall WMP11 off my comp because im on Vista (32bit) and i really dont wanna system restore. so any help will be appreciated...thanks in advance.

Are you connected to the internet? And how are you connected? (Wireless, Ethernet, or Dial-up)

what exactly should i change in IE7 cuz its working fine (work offline option is unticked btw under both WMP11 and IE7). Yes im connected through Cable\DSL. Also im pretty sure theres no way to uninstall WMP11 from vista...

I'm sure there is a way to uninstall it, I did it. I don't have WMP on my comp right now.
Also, it could just be the website WMP is trying to get the info from is down. It's happened to me a couple times. From what I've seen, WMP only utilizes 1-2 sites for it's Album info. Personally, I don't like WMP, I use iTunes. It downloads it all.

thx for the help ermm see the thing is this problem has happened before but it fixes itself in an hour or two. However, this time the problem has been there for more than 2 months so yaa bout time i asked for help.

Perform an Internet Explorer - Reset and see if that helps.

hey i just found that it works in another account but unfortunately still not mine. o and btw reseting IE7 didnt work. i found this on a site but do you guys know how to do this cuz im confused:

* If it's an user profile corruption, then a second/new user account on the system should be able to retrieve metadata. You can then copy that new user's library on top of your library and you should be good to go.

It sounds like you current profile is simply hosed. I honestly do not know what else to do short of a reinstall - or else create a second profile, move every thing to it, delete this one, then recreate this one and move everything back....but that can be a hassle.
