Adrian Wainer

Power User
Hi I am looking for software for Vista 64 for internet download bandwidth monitoring

I have Tautology Bandwidthmeter

Tautology Bandwidth Meter - Internet Traffic Usage Monitor

and Netmeter

Net Meter - LAN Net Meter, WAN Net Meter, Broadband Meter, Broadband Usage Meter

allready

obviously programmes Vista 64 compatible would be idea, but Vista 32 compatability or even just XP compatability would be okay as a lot of stuff will run in Vista 64 that was designed for Vista 32 or XP.

Best and Warm Regards

Hello Adrian Wainer,

Do the two programs you listed not work for you, or are you just looking for a different kind? There are a lot to choose from which I found on Google, but I'm not sure exactly what you need that the two you listed don't have. Look at this search: bandwidth monitor - Google Search. If these are not what you are looking for, can you specify exactly what you are looking for in a bandwidth monitor?

Also, you might look at some Sidebar gadgets, as there are a couple (at least) that do bandwidth monitoring...

of course, this is contingent upon you actually *using* the sidebar....

Yep, Tautology and Net Meter would have have just about everything I need between the two of them, unfortunately as best as I can see Net Meter is free for one month's trial and that's it.

Okay, so the program(s) you use are on free trials and you are looking for other free gadgets/programs to fill those positions. I personally like the sidebar gadgets because they are on my desktop and out of the way unless I need them. If that is the case for you, you may want to look into one at gallery.live.com.

On the other hand, if you want a program, do you want it to be an auto refresher or do you want to run tests manually? Keep in mind that if it auto refreshes that it will consume system resources. If you want a free diagnostics and tester, you may want to try this program at download.com. For one that sits in your system tray and is constantly watching your bandwidth, you may want to give ShaPlus Bandwidth Meter a try. Hope this helps!
