Mcupdate Task

I have a corrupted Mcupdate task that seems to give my Media Center (note - NOT the McAfee updater) update problems. When I went into the task scheduler it reported that task Mcupdate was corrupted. Not much more than I could do but delete it.

How do I recreate it? If I try and create a new Mcupdate task - it tells me that there is already a task with that name. Great - where?

Try this page, it says its for an error message but it will give you a few solutions to fix mcupdate and then a hotfix which it will send to your email and you can create a restore point, then try to instal the hotfix, which should, in theory give you a new mcupdate program. Good luck. Ps. i am having similar problems, my mcupdate wont work at all, even when i run as administrator, so any solutions you find would be very helpful ;

Error message when you configure the Media Center feature or when a scheduled program guide download occurs in Windows Vista: "Windows Media Center Store Update Manager stopped working"
