Media Player Classic

Hi,

Something weird just happened. I was downloading entourage season 2 i was watching the episodes that were completed early and they worked fine. Finally when the torrent finished downloading, i moved the files to from the completed folder to my tv shows. And now the audio doesnt work. I tried playing some other files and they all work fine. But entorage season 2 doesnt work, even the files that worked earlier dont anymore?

Please help,
Joronamo.

sometimes torrents come down with separate audio files ....so you may have moved just the video....

go to your torrent app & ''open file location'' of the vid in question this will show you what you moved
the original download should still be seeding ....see if you can play it directly from there

i would of said you need a codec but if you could preview them that's not the case i don't think

im going to assume these are legal torrents ..??
as piracy is NOT accepted here in any form

Re: Media Player Classic

Hey,

Yeah its legal. I removed the file from utorrent after I seeded it. It came with nfo and srt files which i deleted. There were no audio files seperate from the video files.

Still doesnt work. Does Vista allow torrents to work?

Hi Joronamo,

Torrents work good on Vista...I suggest using GSpot to determine the codec status on your machine, you can select the file to see what audio codec it needs and also see if its currently installed...GSpot Codec Information Appliance

Sometimes you might need to select the second Audio channel on players like VLC before you can also hear sound

Re: Media Player Classic

Hey guys,

Dont worry the problem is fixed. I upgraded from K-lite 4.10 to the mega pack 4.17 and it works now. Still strange though considering everything else worked.

Cheers,
Joronamo.

Re: Media Player Classic

Hey,

I spoke to soon. It did it again. Its funny everytime i reinstall k-lite mega pack it fixes itself, but its twice now that its done it. After i finish installation of k-lite mega, it says the there are a few broken filters and asks me to remove them from the registry. Maybe thats got to do with it. note i installed k-lite mega ontop of my existing k-lite pack. should i maybe uninstall both and then reinstall mega? I also installed GSpot. Not quiet sure what its telling me or how it works.

please help,
Joronamo.

Re: Media Player Classic

well the video is playing try this.
right click and go down to audio and see if the video is dotted.
also check the options and play with the settings and see if it helps.

Re: Media Player Classic

You might could also try using the Vista Codec Packages (4.7.3 for 32bit) to see if that resolves the problem.
