Vista - winrar and winzip in vista x64

hi there! I am using vista ultimate x64. I installed winrar and winzip and it's fine. just been wondering why i can't see the right click options of winrar and winzip. before when i am using winXP 32bit, if i right click on any compressed file supported by winzip and winrar there are options from where i can choose to extract the files in each folder or merged in one folder and now i can't find it in vista. why is that? vista doesn't support it?

When you installed WinRAR, did you select these options:

Show us a picture of what you see when you click on "Context menu items..." because that is what tells us what you should see when you right-click on a file.

I started using 7-zip awhile back, it works well and less aggravating than the others.

I've read the other replies to your post, but none of them mentioned the fact that wjat you have weill not work, regardless of what options you set in each respective program. This is because you are running Windows Vista x64, and chances are your installations of WinRAR and WinZip are 32-bit. Vista x64 cannot use 32-bit Explorer Add-ons.

I'm not altogether sure about WinRAR (I don't use it because WinZip can deal with RAR files just as well), but if you want the context menus to appear in Vista x64, then you need to upgrade to WinZip 11.2, which includes x64 compatible context menu extensions.
