Spybot needs to be elevated to admin

Hello,

New here, and to Vista..........

Hp dv9580us laptop with lotso problems.
Right now I'll settle for a few progams working right.

Spybot needs to be elevated with admin rights to be fully functional?
Also Iobit defrag runs once the the program starts but the box is not up, its started but no visual box?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Re: Spybot needs to be elevated to admin

Hi,

For Spybot - go to C:\Program Filesx86, open Spybot Folder, right click SDMain.exe, click Properties , Compatibility, tick Run as administrator box, click Apply, then OK.

hope this helps

Nope, tried that still getting the message:

You are missing administrator rights to peform this action.
If you need to do this, please run this application elevated as an administrator.

Now this is when trying to Immunize.

That did fix the Iobit Smartdefrag. thanks....

Re: Spybot needs to be elevated to admin

Hi,

Glad it worked for the Iobit.

When you run Spybot, try right clicking it and run as administrator.

If that doesn't work, it may be that when you installed Spybot, you didn't right click and run as admin the setup file to start the installation. In that case, try uninstalling then reinstall using run as admin on the setup file.

Re: Spybot needs to be elevated to admin

Reinstall with the admin trick did the job.

Nice to know about that.

Thanks,
Steve
