| Vista Home Premium 32 bit | Re: Problem installing Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 It's a compatiablitiy issue. Visual Studio 2005 will only work with XP Home/XP Pro and 2000. For Vista you have to use Visual Studio 2008. There is a free trial version Through MS. Good luck. |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Problem installing Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Thanks for replay, but when i tried to instal Visual Studio 2008 i got the same error. Is that means that i can't install VS2005 or VS2008 on my computer? Thanks, Dominika |

| Vista Home Premium 64 bit SP1 | Re: Problem installing Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 I got VS 2008 C# Express to install on my Vista machine. But ActiveX controls I wrote that work on every other IDE, including VS 2008 C# Express on XP, get errors with the Toolbox. If you need to program on the Vista machine I'd consider dual booting XP and do the programming on the XP side. Maybe by the next release of VS they'll have the Vista kinks worked out. It's probably easier to set up dual boot than to mess with the hassles if you do get VS 2008 to install on Vista. I removed it from the Vista machine. It may be one of those things where if you have a Vista PC that it likes you're ok, but if you have a Vista machine it doesn't like, no amount of messing around is going to provide a non-distracting IDE to use. |

Your SxS assembly has been modified by another application and preventing installation... Microsoft.VC80.ATL is installing file "atl80.dll" and used by "Active Template Library" You may contact developer support team using ways described on Microsoft Help and Support MilesAhead, I have yet to have issues with VS2008 Professional with anything I have tried, Your apps properly just need a minor rewrite and reference the newer Vista librarys as they changed quite a few Just remember to get VisualStudio ServicePack1 too ![]() Steven |
