| Vista Ultimate 32bit | wuauclt.exe stops and vista won't boot I recently installed Vista Ultimate, so recently that I haven't yet registered it. It went OK for a short while, and then suddenly after I signed in, it flashed an error message saying 'wuauclt.exe has stopped working'. It gave me the options of 'checking through the internet', or 'finishing the program', but neither option does any good. Safe Mode works all right, and the exe file seems to be in its right place. But even using the installation DVD's repair facility, there's no improvement. If I want to reinstall, it seems I have to do so from a present working system, but the present system isn't working properly. With previous versions like Win95 I would have just formatted the HDD and started again, but I don't know how to do that with Vista. Can anyone help me, please? |
