| Vista Ultimate x64 | Premier Elements 4 and 64bit Vista Hello, I'm a new member. I recently purchased a laptop with a 64bit Vista. I bought this laptop to help me edit videos and pictures using both the Premier Elements and Photoshop elements. The problem I have is that when I'm working on Premier Elements windows keeps closing my program. I recently found out the PE 4 is 32bit compatible, not 64. Is it possible to run programs in a 32bit environment without downgrading my whole system to 32. I really hope I can fix this problem. Palma |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Premier Elements 4 and 64bit Vista I have no problems using Premier Elements 4 (nor with and Photoshop Elements 6.0 too for that matter). When I first started using Premier Elements 4 I thought it had major unreliability issues with Vista x64, but soon found the kind of problems I was having were down to the source video format rathert than the OS. (XP users were reporting the same.) Basically, if you have too many source files in a project it can just fall over due to all the resources it needs for positions, clips, effects etc. (Maybe your problem is similar.) I ended up following a recommendation on one of Adobe's forums to convert the project sources to MS DV AVI format (which you can do through Premier Elements itself by "Save As") before adding them into a project. A bit of a pain - but don't have any problems now. Hope you resolve your problem too. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Premier Elements 4 and 64bit Vista Hi Simon, Thank you so much for getting back to me. Since my last posting, I actually changed the compatibility to Windows XP. Now, I really don't know if that is what worked. BUT, since then I have not had any problems with PE 4. I'll keep your suggestion in mind if my problems start up again. Any input is greatly appreciated Palma |

| Vista x64 Ultimate | Re: Premier Elements 4 and 64bit Vista It should work fine. I would consider Photoshop CS4. Its 64-bit. Try reinstalling it to Program Files instead of Program Files (x86). |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Premier Elements 4 and 64bit Vista Thanks Micheal, I'll keep that suggestion in mind too. As for CS4, as much as I would love to upgrade its just a bit out of my price range. Thanks Palma |
