SITUATION:
OS: Windows Vista Home premium
File path and name: C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-gadgets-calendar_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_0bed92cd0771dcd6
Contains : .png files (An Open, Extensible Image Format with Lossless Compression)
These .png files are modifiable using paint and I want to make some color modifications.
Q1 Are these files copyrighted? i.e. can I change them for my personal use?
Q2 How do I access the file and folder permissions of the above files and directory folders so that I, as the sole user with administrative rights, can replace some of the .png files with files of the same name but that have the graphics (color) changed?
I have been able to modify the files but have not been able to replace them in the x86_microsoft-windows-gadgets-calendar_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_0bed92cd0771dcd6 folder due to permission restrictions. How do I do that? Is there a step by step guide availabble in or outside Microsoft?
PS I really dislike the orange color!
