Photoshop CS4

Well, it arrived yesterday and it's awesome. Large files load round 65% faster and I can use upto 14gb ram ( currently set to 12gb ). I had a few issues getting the wacom pressure sensitivity to work which eventually required a clean install of Vista ( long story ).

Anyway,....just thought I should let you guys know that it's a great 64 bit app.

Chris:

I am waiting for my CS4 and I'm glad to hear it's going to be as great as I planned. Meantime, my wacom graphire4 is crashing the computer even with the recommended new driver for 64 vista. Dell is yapping about a complete install. I don't think so, not with 60 g of graphics already loaded via network since 64 doesn't read the 32 DVD's. Could you be morre specific in regard to the problems you had? I'll be talking to wacom tomorrow as well.

Re: Photoshop CS4

Hi Tangled Web

If I remember correctly I had no pressure sensitivity when use the pen. It would draw ok but have different transparencies within the lines/gestures. The brush palette gave me a warning triangle next to the settings when 'pressure sensitivity' was set. I downloaded the latest drivers for the tablet and it sort of fixed it - but found that I couldn't use the tablet outside of the Photoshop environment...Blah.

It was definitely some kind of conflict with the drivers. I was going to reformat anyway at some point- so I did and reinstalled all the new driver fresh and it's been playing nice ever since...

Re: Photoshop CS4

I loaded CS4 and Lightroom 2.2 last night. Both took about 30 minutes including updates. They are 64-bit. I am researching how to profile both of my cameras for it. I have an Olympus E-500 and E-520. I also need to configure my monitor and Epson RX620 for both. I want to do a backup tonight before starting the setup. CS4 is seeing all 16GB of RAM. I setup the scratch on my single SAS drive. I have to setup the auto processing jobs. Verify your rendering in CS4 is configured to work with your video card. You can render directly on the card in CS4.
