Missing MSVCP71.dll - RealPlayer Problem !

Dear all,

I got a problem.
My system is Vista x64 Ultimate, with all the latest updates installed from Windows Update.
I also installed RealPlayer 11.
I haven't run RealPlayer 11 for a while (1 week or 2), but it's working good the last time I ran it. RealPlay's been working quite well in my memory.

However, it just suddenly didn't work today and gave me a message saying:
"RealPlayer fails to start because MSVCP71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

May I know if anyone could help me out with this problem, please ?

Thank you very much, all.

Well
Try re-installing the Real Player and see if that works.
My suggestion is to use VLC player, unless it is needed for web page viewing. It is very lite on your system resources and plays just about anything. No annoying advertising...

Hi, acdcfan,

Thanks for the reply.
Yup, I tried to re-install the RealPlayer 11 as soon as the problem happened earlier today. Unfortunately, it doesn't fix the problem at all.

The interesting thing was: it's been working for a while on my Vista x64 Ultimate.

If you want tme to say, well, the only thing suspicious was "Oct. security updates or/and fixes".
I also checked the logs of my anti-virus software and it didn't show it's removed this DLL.

Hi Alan
Are you using Real player to watch videos on your computer? If so pleas try VLC you may like it.
Alternatively you may want to try to find older version if possible
