? Safari/ Vista "send to desktop"?

Hi all!
First time poster. I searched through a thread by searching by "send to desktop" but could not find my answer.

One of the things I like about IE is that when I'm on a web page I can click on file and then send to desktop. This creates a short cut on my desk top.

I'm trying to use Safari as a browser now because it seems faster.

But it doesn't seem right that I have to go back to IE each time I want to do this yet I don't see anyway of doing this in Safari.

I know this is not a safari forum but I just thought some other users would know if this is possible or do I have to join a Safari forum to get this answered.

I figured asking this in Safari forum and using Vista is like a dirty word to them over there :D

Thx

Don't use Safari but you can do it with Firefox using the deskCut
AddOn.

Thx for your reply. I already use 2 browsers already!

I have Firefox at work maybe if I get used to that one I'll switch over.

The search continues . . .

If you do like IE you might try Maxthon. It's a free browser based on IE but it has a whole user community with people writing plug-ins for it to do just about anything.
It's multi-tabbed and probably faster than IE. I was messing with it for awhile before I got into Firefox and Opera. Mainly I stay away because I don't like Browser Helper Objects ActiveX and other stuff that can glom onto IE based browsers too easily.
Plus I like Firefox now. Lots of cool AddOns. Probably the best is Bookmark Sync and Sort if you have your own ftp site. When you download bookmarks into Firefox on another machine it's all formatted. Personal toolbar, everything. You download and that's that.(this if for Firefox 2.x in 3.x I think they changed to a database format for bookmarks. I won't be going to 3.x for awhile. Too many AddOns are broken on it.)
