Uk English Spell Checker

I have Vista Home Premium and the American English spell checker is driving me wild! What I really need is the UK English spell checker that I had with XP - any suggestions?

Re: Uk English Spell Checker

Do you have it set for English in your Regional and Language settings in the Control Panel.?

Re: Uk English Spell Checker

Hi Joan, thanks for the reply. Yes, I do. It says English (United Kingdom). Does this mean that I have the wrong setting elsewhere?

Re: Uk English Spell Checker

MS Word is set for English U.K., but Windows Mail is just set for English and I think that this is where the main irritation is. Any ideas?

Re: Uk English Spell Checker

You should be able to find several free spell checkers on
SourceForge.net: Open Source Software

I'm sure some must have UK English dictionaries. When you search also use the term Win32 or you'll get a lot of hits for Linux apps.

Re: Uk English Spell Checker

I have IE7Pro installed which comes with a spell checker I also have iespell from Red Egg Software and that gives me the English UK spelling when in forums and such, I use Windows Live Mail though the newest version, not the Windows Mail that comes with Vista

It's second nature for me now whenever I do any posts I do a right click in the window where I have just written a post and I have the option to check the spelling.

I don't have the URL on hand but just do a Google search for Red Egg Software and you should get it
