Re: Dell Studio 1535 problem

Hi GiantsFan23 and welcome to Vista Forums

I have tidied your post up so that it can be read without having to scroll (removed the </span> commands).
It sounds as though you have received a BSOD - Blue Screen Of Death. Without knowing what is on the screen, it is hard to ascertain what is wrong and to assist you. Please post back with full details of what is on this screen - capture it using a digital camera if necessary and attach the image to the post.
In the meantime, here is the Search Results - DELL COMMUNITY for your laptop. Have a look through these to see if anyone else has had the same or a similar problem and what they did to resolve it.

Re: Dell Studio 1535 problem

G'Day GiantsFan23,

Welcome!

Welcome to Vista Forums
GiantsFan23 , and all the best for 2009 from Aussie Mate!! You will find a great bunch of people here, always willing to help you if you get into any strife, and who are ready to answer any questions about Vista and all of its workings and interactions etc., that you may have. And if you don't understand an answer that is given, just post again asking for a simpler explanation.

Gee, I wonder which 'Pigskin Ball' Team you support?? Okay, you have enough worry and problems to sort out at the moment, but when you get it all fixed, and with your System up and running, please take a few moments to read through the rest of this.

Your 'My Systems Specs'

You can
help the helper " !!", if you just take a couple of minutes to read the Post info in the link at the bottom of my page, and then go to your User CP to put as much detail into your 'My System Specs', as you possibly can. It sure saves typing out all the info that you have given below, over and over again when you need assistance, and will often mean a quicker reply from the 'helpers'......" !!!!"....Weird bunch that they are.

Your 'Little Helper' - Vista Forums SysInfo Tool.

Although you have already given a fair bit of information about your System, you can access additional system information quite easily, by downloading an extremely useful tool from Vista Forums>Tutorials>Software. With this tool, you'll be able to find most of the information for your ' My System Specs' input. Access the tool here, and just follow the simple instructions for downloading;

VistaForums SysInfo Tool

I downloaded mine to the Desktop, where it sits, ready for use in any situation. However, thanks must go to Shao 128 and dmex for giving us the use of this great little number.

All Vista Forums Information.....FAQs.

The best method to find information about anything in this Vista Forum, is to just click on FAQ in the bar at the top of each page. You'll find this to be one of the best Forum resources, and the amount of detail in FAQs is well presented and easily read.

Any Problems in setting up? Just ask.

Enjoy your stay Mate. Cheers. sassofalco

Re: Dell Studio 1535 problem

G'Day GiantsFan23 ! #*&%**#!!!

No worries, and I'm pleased that you got it sorted. The 'Welcome' post is aways there for when and if you want to give it another go .

Two main benefits for having a full and up-to-date 'My System Specs' in User CP;

  • If you have a really urgent problem that you need to post quickly, then precious time is saved through not having to gather all the System Information together, before you even start posting the problem. That's 'Your self-help'.
  • And secondly, it means that anyone can quickly access your Sys.Info. and advise or help accordingly. You never know when someone with a similar set-up to yours, experienced the same symptons, and may have dealt with and repaired or fixed the same problem. That's the 'Helper's Help'.
And don't forget that this 'IT Workshop' never closes!!

Cheers, sassofalco.

PS. For an excellent example of what I'm suggesting you do, checkout Dwarfs 'My System Specs' at his post here, and then for a laugh, have a quick look at mine!

Re: Dell Studio 1535 problem

I update my system spec. I did some reasearch...everybody had same problem. I just have to disable the web cam then update. Should I update or a bit more reasearch?

Well done on 'My System Specs'. That's a good start.

Ok. So it appears to be a general problem. Have a look further here;

Search Results - DELL COMMUNITY

and if you find that the update is the recommended fix, then just follow that path and instructions. If you feel you need more information, then send a request to Dell Support.

Have another read of Dwarf's post above, and if necessary, post again here with additional info about the problem. He's far more qualified than me to address the technical details.

Hope that helps for now.

That's great to hear Giants 'not-so-happy' Fan23, and happy to have been of some assistance.

Confidence is great when you have it, but if you ever strike any more problems, don't forget that this IT Workshop of Vista Forums never closes. Oh! And thank-you for posting back to the Forum to let us know the outcome......that's important too!

All the best Mate.
