Vista - Using DivX codecs in Vista 64?

Apparently one can use FFDShow Tryouts for videos encoded with DivX, XVID, etc, for playback. However, I need the same codecs to create videos. From what I have read, DivX 7.0 doesn't install properly on a Vista 64 system. If anyone know of a workaround, it would be much appreciated

What doesn't install, I have the divx 7 and all of programs work fine on my vista 64 bit. What exactly doesn't install?

A few months I tried to install DivX 6.8.5, and although it appeared to have installed ok, I couldn't create any videos using the DivX codec. For some reason, the installation didn't register the codec properly. Looking at the DivX website, it states that only the 32 bit of XP and Vista is supported.

Maybe I should try installing 7 and see if that works.
