Movies & Videos not closing in VMC

I have a minor but annoying problem with playing movies or videos in VMC.

Once you have watched the Mov/Vid and stop it and say you are done it sits in the main screen menu as now playing - eventually to start again of its own accord.

The only way to stop this happening is to close VMC and reopen it.

Does anyone know how to stop this happening.?

TIA

Please help me with this as well. It is the most annoying thing - I dont remember when it started but it wasnt always this way.

What really is bad though, is that one of my kids finishes watching a movie or something on the media center and turns off the TV. Then out of the blue a short while later something starts playing and freaks everyone out since it perhaps it was late at night and everything was quiet...... the kids have a habit of turning off the TV but forgetting the receiver which pumps the Media Center audio.

like I said - annoying.

I hate always turning off the reciever to avoid this because its also my HDMI switcher for the Mediia center. Turning it off and on when I only need to pause/stop a movie for a half hour or so is something I can do without since it causes the TV to resynch the resolution between 1080i and normal desktop mode.... sometimes the TV doesnt like the resync.

i've had the problem, when i close Windows Media Player, while its playing something, then the program closes, but the song still goes on, until i had to open it again, and then stop the song, and then close it again :S

After further checking I've worked out that this only started in October - after a cumulative update.

Does anyone know if this could be the reason ?

You know, that makes sense - October.
I knew it seemed like it just started happening one day out of the blue - I never remember it being that way before.

Dang!

I found this thread that explains a work around for half of the problem HERE.

According to it, you need to set the time on the screen saver to something large like 125 minutes. It is working for me so far. But if I have VMC in a small window and I switch to full screen, it begins the stopped video still.
