Vista - side by side configuration error

hey guys ive been getting a side by side configuration error when i try to play dead space and when i try to use the new msn messenger. it all came all of the sudden i had the new messenger on my windows 7 beta and it was worknig fine put it on my vista 64 and down she went with this strange error. dead space i had played once (it was working fine on 32 bit) but after i went to start it again i got the same config error.

ive reinstalled all of the programs numerous times updated my visual c++ and so on but i dont no wat to do, this gives me no error number and ive never heard of it or seen it before.

please help me with this irritating problem

ok so i solved the problem and heres how to fix it incase anyone else encounters it.

go to the visual studio 2005 or 08 or watever your program requires folder in side your programs directory. in my case for dead space, it was under the "redistributables" folder in my game directory. reinstall the visual studio exe inside of there and it should all restart

the fact i didnt try that right away makes me feel a little dumb :P but i can see it being easy to overlook, especially when you look all over the internet and all the answers tell u to download ridiculous amounts of things or just reinstall your program

you lost me right there

I am havingthe same problem, I am not very good with computers... But, I read about installing that Visual C++ 2008 only trouble is it gives me the same side-by-side compatibility message when I try to run any an all none 64 bit programs.

I am getting the side by side when I try to download anything that is pdf. I have uninstalled and installed again and it does not help. Any thoughts
