some files play fine on both (desktop dual 22"monitors, and sony hd720p projector, other files only on desktop, then on projector via extender (linksys dma2200) reads "cannot play video" possible codec or file corruption"
doesn't make sense to me any help?
got all the shark codec package with quicklite
associated all media files to default open with media center.
appreciate any help, driving me nuts

you may have the codecs on the desktop but not the extender, the extender is the device playing the files, not your desktop, all your desktop is doing is streaming it to the extender. to fix this, you will need to find software to decode the files and play them streamed on the fly, i used to use this software to play every type of file on my 360, before the update to play avi files came out, and it still works, give it time to decode the files first and you will be pleasantly surprised.

I think i figured it out....no matter what your computer will play, the extender is going to play certain file types- as listed in manual. What I have done to solve this inconvenience is convert all file types that will not play via extender, to a file type that is known to play really well via extender...
I picked a program called "Any Video Converter" , advertised as fool-proof, not alot of settings (at all) to adjust, or tinker with....I usually convert to mpeg2...not sure if thats the best one to use for quality or not- but i do know they play perfectly on my projector via linksys dma2200 extender....hope that helps
