Search can not find any documents or emails in Outlook

Hello,
I have problems with the search system in Vista home Premium. The search system seems to be shut off. It can not find any documents or emails (in outlook). I am trying to disable the Search index after reading your coments. What should I do do if this does not help?

I disabled the teh search index but it did not help the problem

maybe a search tool for outlook like lookeen would be helpful?
i know that the search system of vista is very problematical.
