Ultra Explorer

Hi, I have just installed Ultra Explorer for my vista ultimate, because Windows Explorer was crashing non stop.. It seems to be ok now. The thing I want to know is, how do I make Ultra Explorer the default, in opening up documents etc?, instead of windows explorer opening up my documents etc.. is this possible??. Can someone please help me with this.
Regards
Riptorn.

Re: Ultra Explorer

(Windows) Explorer is not just-another-app. It's also what's called "the shell" - an important part of the operating system.

You'd really be better off to first properly troubleshoot the Explorer crash, otherwise I can virtually guarantee that you'll have other problems. That MINIDUMP.MDMP file that's talked about in the event contains more info. If you zip it up and upload it, I'll take a look.

After that, run UltraExplorer all you like, if you like

Try the forum for the product. Most of these file managers have some way to set it as the shell. Might be registry setting, .ini file. Almost all paid products have a user forum that you can find on the product web page.

Also it might not be a bad idea to check out what the crashes are as the other reply mentions. You might have a flaky shell extension. There should be utilities to list all shell extensions. See the vista free software list.
