I need a free ocr programme my lexmark p4350 will not scan to word without one, can anyone help?

please lease please, can someone help, my lexmark work great with xp but will not scan with vista says it neds ocr, what do i do, i have a free ocr but am failing miserably to get it save as something i can actually read!!!!
