| Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 | Re: Netcraft Anti-Phishing Toolbar Yes, this way of protection is very cool - perfect for the not so security interested or clickhappy people. But try WOT Internet Security | WOT Web of Trust instead. I could link you to a site where they warn: IMPORTANT: Many of the sites listed in this database WILL INFECT your computer. DO NOT visit them if you do not know what you are doing. and Ive done it once before. Dont think it is a good idea though, some will make mistakes. Site is very legit and fun to test Cant prevent you from google that quote... If you get hooked put RSS feed in Google Reader, much easier to launch sites. And check classification page so you know what to expect. Best to do in a virtualbox of course.I dont really know Netcraft but think Firefox/Google and IE is stepping up. Seems they block more and more but hard to be conclusive. WOT is definitely the best for those sites you refer to. They have direct link to sources like the one I did not link to. Lets hope service stay free of too rigid adversting blocking, spamkings and troublemakers. Ive only seen 1 FP for now. They say system is crack-proof, hmm. Norton, Mcafee, why not include all products from known AV companies, are not that great with this. You can compare some of them with LinkExtend LinkExtend - The Ultimate Browsing Tool Overlapping is not a big issue. My AV use dif. sources but also Phishtank run by OpenDNS - which I also use. Microsoft also subscribe to Phishtank. WOT (phishtank again) is more aggressive and use the latest list of bad sites (about 100 sources) - and there you have difference. They can make forum posts asking for new sources. Well, extension is also pretty cool - they have put some work into the "user experience" while being blocked/warned ![]() Imagine if an AV company had used brain power and come up with "better than scanning" protection like WOT.WOT do what they cant be bothered with. Rely on the same big and slow services I think. May be changing if my nose is correct about Google and MS getting more hits. |
