| Vista 64 bit | Program Files (x86) Question Last night I get me new computer with Visat 64 bit. I install Quicken, and the default comes up as Program Files (x86), not knowing what this is I install the software to Program Files. After the fact I realize one is for 32 bit, the other 64 bit. Did I screw up by installing a 32 bit program in the 64 bit file? Should I remove it and reinstall it in the (x86) folder? It seems to run fine. I could be wrong but I think the program is now in the x86 folder. Will it move itself if you install it in the wrong place? As I move the cursor, it changes to a magnifying glass and changes the screen. How do I turn this off? |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Program Files (x86) Question sixgun95 welcome to the forums. As you found out one is for 32 bit and one is for 64 bit programs, and is more for the users benefit than anything just so you know which are 64 bit and 32 bit programs. And no it doesn't make any difference which of the folders you installed it to. As for the cursor thing I'm pretty sure that has to do with the accessibility options, which are available in Control Panel (would check but I have it disabled and uninstalled, or as uninstalled as I can make it). |

| Vista x64 Ultimate | Re: Program Files (x86) Question I am amazed how many applications can't install in (x86). You have to point them to Program Files. |
