I've seen Vispa around the freeware sites but I don't know anyone who has tried it. Any Vispa users? Does it work on 64 and 32 bit Vista? Is it solid, flaky, other?
Just another tweaker - this one founded on MS being evil. Read first lines here Vispa inspired by the old Xpy - Im lost, dont want to connect to MS because of "simply idealism", why the heck use MS then? I would look into a firewall if "connecting" was an issue.
Has some neat features. Can let you make changes to a profile instead of system. So you later can load profile and add some more. Can also make system restore points and revert changes. Not easy to figure out really. Use colors to show changes made but small not resizeable window. He wants to make it safe to use but Im not sure Zero explanation of each setting. Most are obviously already available in Windows, disable services etc. Pointless
Yeah, it seemed kind of nebulous. I guess the "contact Microsoft" might be stuff like opting out of the Customer Experience Program and that kind of stuff. I'm leary of tweakers unless I have an expendable machine to try them out on. I did have a few weeks ago, but I expended it.
Windows Media Player, DRM, error reporting - all that goes to MS HQ is considered an attack, heh. Would be better to focus on the few settings which mean something and then suggest alternative/better 3rd party programs for whatever. No reason to sleep with MS just because using Windows. Seems like internet usage in general and the fact anyone is being tracked has overtaken approach/attitude of Xpy and now Vispa. When spying, phoning home were hot there were no Facebook, not even many used credit card online, not many official/state services used internet. Was all ???? and suspicious - now "dangers" are all over the place
