Vista - Trouble with my pc game

I just got my new ASUS g50vt-x6 3 days ago. Ive had some problems playing battlefield 1942. The problem is that occaisionally it will exit my game and says "battlefield.exe has stopped working" Ive been doing some research and other people have the same problem (AND THEY ALL HAVE VISTA). sooo.. any help is appreciated.

The game is crashing and that error message does not by itself give any further insight. The fact that it happens on Vista is immaterial - the vast majority of people playing that game on Vista do not suffer that symptom.

Try to update the game first of all. There may be patches or updates available from the website of the game developer. Then update your video and NIC drivers (relatively commond causes of crashes during "demanding" games).

If none of that works, try reinstalling the game. Some of its files or settings may be corrupted.
