Vista Ultimate 64bit Question

First off, I just want to say this site is awesome! :D

Now a couple of questions...

I am building my own system, I just wanted to know if I could save some cash by getting an upgrade disk and then do the clean install trick instead of buying the full version? Also, does 64bit software come with Vista Ultimate Upgrade Disk?

Hello Baboon, and welcome to Vista Forums.

I suppose you could go the upgrade route to save some money since you have Vista Home Premium if you do not mind installing the upgrade twice everytime you want to do a clean install with it.

A full retail Vista Ultimate package will have both the 32-bit and 64-bit Vista Ultimate DVD included with it. However, you can only have one or the other installed at the same time using the same product key number that came with it. You would only have to install once for a clean install though. ;)

If you would like to go 64-bit, double check to make sure that all of your devices have 64-bit drivers available for them, and that you software will also support 64-bit first though. Most software will, but some security and utility type programs may not. This Microsoft link can be help to check compatibility.
