Maple 7 Compatibility

Hi,

I have software called Maple 7, which is programming/computational software for mathematics. I am trying to run in on my Vista Home 32-bit OS. There are known compatibility issues.

Refer to this thread ( Maple compatibility ).

I did exactly what was suggested on that thread; i.e. I ran the installation in compatibility mode for "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)," and once the program was installed, I ran the program in compatibility mode as well.

By doing this, some of the issues were fixed, but some weren't. For example, if I try to save my work, the program immediately still shuts down completely.

The new version of Maple is too expensive for me and I want to use this version that I have now. It is very important for me! Can anyone troubleshoot with me?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Maple 7 Compatibility

Hi Fwinty

I'm not sure how I can help you with this one. As you are probably aware, it clearly states that the latest version (11) of Maple 7 is not compatible with any version of Vista.

Maybe another member might be able to offer you a more positive solution.

Sorry.

Regards, Neil

Re: Maple 7 Compatibility

Hi Smiley,

Thanks for trying. Actually, Maple 13 is the latest version of Maple, and it's compatible with Vista.

But my point is, the latest version is about $1000 (for the type I need), and I just can't afford that.

Does anyone have any ideas? Has this shutting-down-while-attempting-to-save-a-file ever happened to anyone else with another program maybe? It must have something to do with the GUI interface when you save, because the second my mouse rolls over the folders in the save window, the programs shuts down.

Help?
