Hi all,
Vista Premium in-place update and /or upgrade to Vista Ultimate is pevented by the the error: "Frontpage Server Extension installed on this computer" .
Frontpage was uninstalled, all occurances of "Frontpage" from the registry has been removed using Regseeker.
As well renamed the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\ as recommended.

Still it seems to be somewhere Frontpage Server Extension /IIS Server present?

Any help appreciated how to uninstall "Frontpage Server Extension"

This is the continuation of the thread, windows update does not work.

Hi fjc,

it seems I have the same problem. Windows Setup does not allow upgrade function with message "Frontpage Server Extension installed on this computer"

I ran through some forums for a while because I have a problem with Windows update (#80070490). I want to keep my system. Only chance is to run an in-place upgrade.

I have not found the solution yet.

Do you have an older office installed? like Office 2000 Premium? This would install server extension in ...\common files\Microsoft shared\web extensions

Did you check registry entries?
