Windows Live Messenger Stopped Working!!

Hi,
I downloaded WLM Version 2009 (latest build) a few weeks ago and not been able to use messenger ever since. Every time I start the program comes with:

"Windows Live Communications Platform has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"

and then a windows pups up with a message saying that Data Execution Prevention has closed Windows Live Communications Platform.

I read that some people have installed the A-patch, went to the site downloaded the latest patch, for Version 2009 latest build, and no luck. I have re-installed several times also...no luck

I need messenger urgently and I'm frustrated...Any help please....Johnny

Thanks kikidee, I followed the link but it says the it's a solution for that specific error message. Anyway, I decided to go back to a version that worked for me and downloaded Version 8.1 and now is working without a problem.

Another thing happenned when I installed 8.1. I run IE 8 but, once I finished installing messenger I started Explorer and took me to a runonce program for IE 7. Try answering the questions but the page had some errors and could not save my settings, checked the version of Explorer and it showed Internet Explorer 8. I got rid of the runonce and I up and running again.

Thanks anyway

---thank you for the answer!---sometimes I also figure out the solutions just by trying different various trial-and-error tactics---(and I also learn from post results)---
