Mysqld.exe? What is it?

New member here, was wondering if anyone had any answers to a problem I've recently encountered.

I have a Dell StudioXPS with Vista 64 and for the last 3 weeks or so every time I start up my pc I get this "Mysqld.exe" process that just runs the cpu at almost 100%. I have to manually end the process otherwise my pc runs extremely sluggish. Runs fine afterwards.Have no idea what it could be,what program it is or anything. It doesn't show up in my startup folder, msconfig. Only in the processes.
I've tried a system restore to no avail,cc cleaner to delete any new program it may have come from, cleaned the registry, etc.

Searching on the internet comes up with basically nothing.

Any ideas?
Let me know if you need any info I haven't listed.

Thanks

Re: Mysqld.exe? What is it?

Yeah it seems a lot of people (in the searches on forums and other sites) appear to be having the same problem as you. Can you find the process in msconfig and prevent it from starting up in the future?

Also you can check out Process Explorer ( Process Explorer ) to get a more in-depth look at whats actually going on.

Other than that though there seems to be no immediate fix or full reason to why this is happening.

I can find the process in msconfig, and manually end it,however I cannot find it in any startup either through msconfig,or cccleaner.

I will check out process explorer, though I think I may have tried that already a couple weeks ago.

Re: Mysqld.exe? What is it?

According to systemworks,it seems to be a file of Adobe AIR,which I have no idea what it does.
I removed that program, but after a restart it was still there (Mysqld.exe).
Using systemworks,I scanned again and removed the process permanently, then used cccleaner to clean the registry.
I hope it's gone now for good.
Haven't noticed any problem with the pc (yet).

Re: Mysqld.exe? What is it?

Could I have done some damage to my computer by removing it?
Or maybe just one particular program?

Seems like there was no other solution.

Re: Mysqld.exe? What is it?

From what I understand you only really need MySQL for running something like a website or a game where your computer is the host...

You may be able to uninstall it if you don't use it.

There are other options available such as access.
