Itunes - Losing songs and going nuts.

Hello everyone,

I have been having problems with my computer lately, and as a result of this I have lost a quite a few songs when buying them through Itunes.

Problem is:

I purchase a song and it starts to download. Just as the song is complete my computer shuts down. When I restart the machine and I go back to the iTunes store, my song has been downloaded but can't be found in my library.

This has become a problem and since I am not a computer genius I was wondering if any of you have a solution to my problem ? My computer is only 1,5 years old and I don't use it that much, but I am fed up with it and will buy another one in a couple of months.

I am able to locate the song when I search for it, but HOW do I move it to Itunes ?

I have tried before but when I try to open the "file" or song, I am asked to enter my password in Itunes. When I do, it tells me that my machine is already authorised. I just can't get my head around it, and this is becoming costly since I have to purchase the song again (impatient, and I give up)

Please please please... can anyone help ?? Would be so happy if I knew how to move the songs to Itunes.

Hi Kristin,

You should be able just to drag and drop the music file into your iTunes library. Usually you will have an iTunes folder in your Music folder. You could just drag the song from wherever you say you find it, to the top left corner of iTunes where it says Library-Music. Or go to File-Add File to Library in iTunes at the top left menu. There is a setting in iTunes under the Menu, that you can enable to have it copy songs to your iTunes library. Edit-Preferences-Advanced Tab-Copy Files to iTunes Music Folder when adding to Library.

If you're having problems with your iTunes account, you can deauthorize your computer where it says Advanced-Deauthorize Audible Account, then you could reautorize it, or make an new account. I believe you can only authorize a computer with a certain account 5 times. And you can always uninstall, then reinstall iTunes if you think it's not working right. As for your computer turning off, it sounds like that may be a bigger problem, a couple things you could do is run System Files - SFC Command and Check Disk - chkdsk to see if that can fix any possible corruption/damaged system files you might have. Asides from that, if you're not tech saavy, or know about computers a lot, you might even have it taken in to have it checked out by a computer tech.
