Hi

I have a similar problem, so rather than start a new thread...

Am running a new Sony laptop with a built in web cam. Webcam works OK with the supplied software, (ArcSoft WebCam Companion 2) but does not function with WLM, whether or not the cam has been disconnected after using the ArcSoft application

When I try to run Audio & Video Setup on WLM I get the following message: "We are unable to run Audio & Video Set Up"

The version of WLM that I am using is 2009 (build, 14.0.8064.206)

Would be grateful if anyone has any ideas

Thanks

I found the audio video set up that you mentioned in your post. I ran it an my sound worked and my video worked. So now the I know my web cam works with WLM. I still cant figure out how to video chat with anybody. So how does one contact someone with web cam to video chat. MS needs to do a better job with tutorials.

I don't have a web cam icon next to my picture. When I go to actions; video; I get start a video call, show my web cam, view contacts web cam or get a web cam. When I click on any of them all I get is a window that says: To start (choice from above), select a contact and then click OK. Then below that is a search contacts tab and below that it says; None of your contacts are available to join a video call. So what am I missing....
