Vista - Error: 0xc000007b for downloads

Hello,

I've been receiving the error message "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000007b). Click OK to terminate the application." This has been popping up for anything I attempt to download in the last month or so. The main programs that are encountering this issue are Oovoo (downloaded from internet) and The Sims 3 (downloaded from a disk). Does anyone have any advice? I just paid 50 for this new game, and I would like to be able to pay it. I'm just a tad frustrated. Thanks for any tips!

It won't scan, for some reason. It's still doing the part that is supposed to "take a few seconds" but it has been four hours.

It maybe because you have a nasty on your system, that error number was connected to a worm called "WORM_KLEZ.E", or one of its variations, so it's important to run a scan if only to eliminate the possibility of a virus. Try and see if you can run a scan here, if you can than go back to Trend Micro and run their scan too. Post your results. Good luck.
