Need permission to perform..?

I am new to windows. I recently installed Vista Business 64bit on a 8 Core MacPro to run some cg software. I installed an old plugin into one of my application, now the application won't run because of a .dlr file. So I tried to delete this file but it keeps telling me I don't have permission. How can I delete this file? I am the only user on this computer.
Thanks,
Steve

Hello speters1,
Try booting in safe mode and delete it from there.
Go to start,
in search bar type msconfig,
open boot tab and check the "safe boot" box, apply and reboot.
Dont forget to uncheck when in safe mode.
Good luck and post your result's.

Hey speters1,

You can take ownership of the file either by command ...

Takeown /f "C:\ ... .dlr"
(Must be ran from elevated command prompt)

Or by going to the file, right clicking on it, select properties, go to the security tab and click advanced, click the owner tab, click edit, click either your username or administrators and click OK.

This should give you the permission you need.

Good Luck :)
