I might be in the wrong place , but, I tried to install filters for my photoshop x64 but they go into x86 directory and do not show in the filter lists. I deleted adobe from the x86 dir but its still the same the filters do not show. These filters worked fine when they were used when my machine was x86. I there a cure?

"Filters" and "Plug-Ins" go in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2 (or whatever version of photoshop you have). Close photoshop then re-open, they shuold now be installed.

Also when you install Abobe Photoshop it will install in C:\Program Files (x86)\ unless you have Adobe CS4 which in this case might install in C:\Program Files\ but I can't say for sure as I'm using CS2 under Vista x64.

Let me know

First off, Which version of Photoshop do you have? Second, which version of Vista do you have?

Also, since you said...

I deleted adobe from the x86 dir but its still the same the filters do not show.

That would probably explain why it says photoshop is not installed. So let's startover once you've answered my first two questions.

Thanks

Then I would suggest you reinstall Adobe Photoshop CS4. Let it install in the directory it wants to. Then Install the plug-ins/filters and let them find the CS4 plug-ins folder and install there.

I forgot to ask, but what filters/plug-ins are you trying to install?

I was trying to install Intellehance v4.02. When I installed photoshop, in the notes it said that it installs 2 copies, a x86 and x64 bit in 2 different program files\adobe directories. It prefers to put any reference to plugins in the x86 dir bit the 64 bit photoshop cannot not find it there. I can run a drive with 32bit windows or a seperate drive with 64bit. The 64bit drive runs smoother and faster but the problems of programs and drivers in the 64bit may make me change permenently to 32bit software, I will wait for a few days to see how it goes and if I have any more problems I will change to 32bit. Thanks to all for all the suggestions and advice..

You're talking about Extensis Intellehance?

Hmmm...didn't know Intellehance v4.02 was still compatible with today's versions of Adobe Photoshop. The last time I played with that program was with Adobe Photoshop 7. The last version I had was 4.03 back in 2000.

Good luck.
