I think I still prefere XP over Vista so I am bussy coping some nice programs and icons from my vista partition to cd's for after reformat. I am trying to get some of the nice vista buildin tools to work in xp. Untill now al it all worked but I can't manage to copy the vista diskmanagement (with shrink and expant functions) and the cd management (multisession cd burning) to xp. Both xp and vista are installed on my system both are LEGAL and I would like to know what files to copy, what tweaks to perform to get them working in xp?

Can someone help me out?:sarc:

*edit*

Note: I am not affread of changing system files using an hex editor or a resource editor...

That would be easier yeah, but I heard a lot of scarry things about the freeware... like blown up graphiccards and so on... I do not like to spent a lot on this...

And I did not yet find a program for multisession NTFS burning...

Before using anything new I try to find some feedback on the software. Sometimes a google of _insert name of software here_ and "broke my system" does it. Or the sw may have its own forum.. you tend to see the worst case horror stories there. For some stuff the freeware actually works better than a lot of the paid software. For burning, Imgburn is a good example. It just came out with v. 2.5 but I'm cautious like you. I'm still using Imgburn 2.3.2.0 :) It works great for me so why fix what isn't broken? :)

Multisession stuff I stay away from unless I don't really care about the data. If you are lucky, you can read it back on the same setup that burned it. Too often it just won't show up on another rig. Better off to copy the stuff into a folder, then add files, then burn the folder to a new disc.
