Vista - Java (JRE) 6 update 15 available

The Java SE Runtime Environment 6 update 15 from Sun Microsystems is now available.

Choose Windows for 32bit, and Windowsx64 for 64 bit from the drop down list. You can install both if you like. https://cds.sun.com/

You don't need to use that Sun Download manager. Just click on the link here, choose offline installation, close your browsers, Uninstall your old Java versions, Unblock the new setup and run it.

Where is this update originally from? Java website is showing only update 14 available.

it's a verified Sun Microsystems website, which is who makes Java. I also verified the version on the Java website. They have different websites, maybe they haven't updated their information on some of the sites.

Confirmed....

I usually use FF3 as my browser, but for some downloads I revert to IE8, basically because of File location. However, to open the link in Airbot's 'heads-up' first post in this thread by using FF3, I right clicked on the link and selected to open the link in a new Tab....took me straight to the right download page.

However, just to confirm that the updated Java version was successfully installed via IE8....Start>Control Panel [Classic View]>Programs and Features>[confirmation of installation]

And finally, I ran a quick test of the Java Virtual Machine [JVM] setup;

The Detailed Systems Properties is displayed when clicking on to the 'More Information' button.
