| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Crosswords and Acrosslite sedonamac: Try downloading Across Lite v. 2.0 from this link: The New York Times > Member Center > Site Help > Downloading Across Lite for Windows It should give you the file size Vista wants. Ardneh |

| Vista Home Premium 64bit | Re: Crosswords and Acrosslite Thanks for the tip, but I already tried that. The 2 Acrosslite downloads offered are not compatible (for some weird reason!) with Windows Vista 64 bit. I've emailed the IT help desk at the NY Times and still no response from them. I'm ready to throw my hands up!!! |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Crosswords and Acrosslite sedonamac: I know that this is not supposed to apply to issues that are considered to be 32bit vs. 64bit. However at least one person with an x64 system has reported being able to run Across Lite in compatibility mode. Don't know whether it was v1.2 orv2.0. Might be worth trying. Ardneh |

| Vista Home Premium 64bit | Re: Crosswords and Acrosslite Thanks for the input. I solved my problem by turning off the User Account Control, which did not allow Acrosslite to initialize. Acrosslite does not have a "valid" digital signature per Windows Vista. After downloading and initializing Acrosslite, I turned the UAC back on. Now I just get the annoying message that Acrosslite is not safe, etc., which I believe I have disabled as well. I hope this experience is useful to others. ![]() sedonamac |
