Vista - Best AVI -> DVI Conversion Software?

Can someone please point me in the direction of a very good (preferably free) conversion software that I could burn AVI files to DVD format please? I have some files I'd like to watch on my DVD player that are currently in .avi format right now. I don't care about the cost or anything.

Thank you. I did see them in the free software section, but I was unsure how well they worked and was unsure if there are ones you can buy that are better (actually faster) than the free ones.

I've not tried any of these personally - it would be interesting to know how you get on.

Once you have your AVI files converted to DVD format and are ready to burn,
run them through FixVTS once first. FixVTS will quickly and automatically correct
any structural faults and give you a more DVD compliant disc.

I used DVD Flick a few times. It does a beautiful job. Best quality and easy to use (after you read the 4 page instructions).
