| Xp-Vista-7 | Acronis True Image? Well now I've cloned my Hard drive and found I can clone my disk in 7 minutes. Are there any issues you might forsee with this method instead of a clean re-install? |

| Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) | Re: Acronis True Image? This thing works a treat and I love it. Only issue I see is if you cloned it after some months of usage because you are bringing corrupt files and/or pesky varmints along for the ride so... If you are doing a clean install... Go for it! If cloning from an Old installation... I would do a clean install I should know, I just did it a couple of days ago on my Office Rig. |

| Vista home premium 32bit | Re: Acronis True Image? There should be no problem to use it as a recovery option. I have already recovered from a cloned image several times (I use Norton Ghost though). The only question I would have is regarding the 7 minutes. My clones take more like 40 minutes (to an external USB attached disk). The images are on average 45GBs. You must have been using a Sata or eSata. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 sp2, Solaris x64 | Re: Acronis True Image? To make the recovery image usually takes longer, but reinstalling the system is fast. In my case, it takes about 15 minuts to recover 50GB partition with the OS from the image via USB cable. I use the Spotmau Power Suite to do this. |

| Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) | Re: Acronis True Image? To make the clone takes longer but to restore it all back is pretty fast with Acronis. I have a WD 160GB Velociraptor and I use like half of it, the restoring of my clone took about 12 to 15 mins to do and my system is about 4 to 5 yrs old. |
