hi and welcome to vista forums

First you should probably start your own thread. You will get more response.

Second could you go into event viewer (type event viewer in search) and go to the windows log>applications tab. Look for errors (they have red in the left column) that mention messenger. there will be many. tell us what the event ID (something like 1000) and source (something like 100) are.

zigzag. Same error for me. I don't know wether these others have fixed it but I can't seem to do it. So I went to event viewer, and did what you said and got the things up. Here ya go.

i had this problem with a acer desktop, tried numerous solutions this worked for me
with acer aspire x1300
control panel, nvidia control panel, configure firstpacket settings,and disable first packet
