| Vista home premium 32 bit | kaspersky causing problems ? Good evening group. When my free 60 day NORTON anti-virus( pre-loaded on my HP PC ) ran out I picked up Kaspersky on a return home trip to london.\it was on offer as BORDERS on Oxford Street was closing down. On returning to Warsaw I went through the usual loading etc but then encountered a host of hassles which are still with me. ![]() My 2 month old HP deskjet 2280 all in one took particular umbrage with it.All manner of error messages came from both it and Kaspersky. Then windows Vista got into the act and I got a load of update error messages..ie,MSI.DOT.4WRP.....Error 80070673,.....Fatal error-2753.. I removed the deskjet programme and re-installed,all to no avail. I then unplugged internet and removed Kaspersky with no noticeable improvement on any front. Searching around I found the error message is a common problem and instructions for going into the registry and doing all kinds of arcane computer wizardry seem to be the only answer.. Is this my only recourse or is there a simpler solution.. The desktop is only a few months old itself with not a lot yet loaded on it so I am seriously thinking of formatting it back to the beginning. I did try the restore point option from before the kaspersky was loaded but the PC says there is an error and I should try another restore point...( I did and none function ? )So does anybody know who is guilty..Vista,Kaspersky, etc.All was fine until the kaspersky got its snout in.... Sorry for the PC idiot questions.....Most times I have been able to get myself out of problems but this has got me stumped... Being here in Poland with an English speaking PC doesn't help as regards PC shops helping either.. Humungous thanks if you can offer some suggestions... PS.... The HP Pavilion has all the windows software on a partition. if I wanted to format back to the beginning how would I go about it..??? regards, ex-pat Brit, James Ryan (like the private) |

| Vista Ultimate 64-bit, SP2 | Re: kaspersky causing problems ? Hello lolok & welcome to Vista Forums, There may be Norton remnants left on your computer creating the conflicts that you are experiencing. Did you use the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall the program before installing Kaspersky? Download and run the Norton Removal Tool Reboot on completion. |
