| Vista Home | Password protecting my portable hard drive Hi everyone, I recently bought a western digital portable hard drive in black, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I can password protect it. Thanks a lot! c258 |

| Vista home premium 32bit | Re: Password protecting my portable hard drive I don't think you can password protect a drive. But you can encrypt it with a password. In Vista Ultimate, that is a standard function. If you have a home edition, you can use a program like this: TrueCrypt - Free Open-Source On-The-Fly Disk Encryption Software for Windows Vista/XP, Mac OS X and Linux - but there are many others - just Google. |
