You need to provide more details about the problems that you currently have.[ We are not mind readers.] Apart from AVG what other security progs are you running?[ Defender, Win. Firewall etc] Are the programs all fully updated? [ including Windows.] Did another Anti Virus program come pre installed on your computer? If so how did you remove it? How often do you run scans with AVG? etc. etc. Initially I suggest you download the MS Windows® Malicious Software Removal Tool & run it. Download details: Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool |

| Vista Ultimate x64, SP2 | Re: everything keeps crashing Hello mikey999, It could be a virus, download and run these programs, 1. Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes.org 2. CCleaner. (backup registry when prompted). CCleaner - Home Follow these tutorials. System Files - SFC Command Repair Install For Vista This will ensure that there is no programs on your PC that should not be there, and will also ensure that your file system is clean and not corrupt in anyway. If the problem is still there after this then at least we know the system is clean and can go from there. As JMH mentioned, the more information you can give us the better. Hope this helps, give it a go and post your results, good luck. |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: everything keeps crashing it came with mcafee originally but when it ran out i uninstalled it via add/remove programs or whatever its called on vista then i installed avg free as a dell techinician suggested it. it usually scans every day at 8 pm otherwise sometimes it is about every other day. everythin is automatically updated. i will try those things them get back to you# but internet loads the progrm then as soon as it pops up it closes. msn when i click sign in it doesnt respond and i have to close it. avg. resident shield and email scanner turned themselves off and i cant get them back on and it wont let me click on the scan button, it highlights as buttons do when you go to click on them but then nothing happens any way i go to scan it.. |

| Vista Ultimate 64-bit, SP2 | Re: everything keeps crashing mikey 999, Re McAfee having been preinstalled on your computer. Often remnants of the program still remain after you have uninstalled it & can cause many glitches. It may be worth considering using The McAfee Removal Tool. NOTE: Windows Vista users must right-click MCPR.exe and select Run as Administrator. Restart your computer after receiving the message CleanUp Successful. Your McAfee product will not be fully removed until the system is restarted. How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee consumer products using the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe) |
