Japanese Unicode Problem Vista Home Premium

My laptop is Compaq Presario C700, just formatted it to vista home premium 32bit
have installed the required drivers.

after I changed the unicode to japanese and restarted the computer.

I tried repairing it, and tried to system restore(sadly there's no system restore point)

any solution to this problem? ):
