Photo Editor compatable with Vista?

How do I get a version of "Microsoft Photo Editor" that is compatable with Vista 64 bit Home Premium edition operating system?
Photo Ed 3.01 is the only one I found to download, and it is not compatable with my Vista.

I also use other photo editing programs, but Photo Ed is the fastest to re-size, smudge, and crop jpg images.

Re: Photo Editor compatable with Vista?

According to Wikipedia article on Microsoft Photo Editor, most of its features are incorporated in Microsoft Office Picture manager.
That said, you might also look into the built in editing features of Windows Photo Gallery. It can resize/crop pictures and does a reasonable job of auto-correcting colour balance.

Re: Photo Editor compatable with Vista?

I LOVE Microsoft Office Picture Manager, and it's so nice to hear others talk about it, cause most people don't even know it's there!

Actually, Picture Manager IS a version of Photo Editor, because Photo Editor was the predecessor to Picture Manager -- and Picture Manager has almost all of the old Photo Editor functions, and a large number of new ones. I use it exclusively to do the photo editing that Windows Photo Gallery is not set up to do. The difference, in my opinion, is that Photo Gallery is set up to be just that, a photo gallery, whereas Picture Manager is both an editing program and a gallery. As I said, I love Picture Manager, and am really happy with its ease of functions and multiplicity of features.

PS If you want, it's easy to set up Picture Manager to be your default, so that whenever you're working with photos, it's the app in which all photos appear.

I also use office picture manager a lot. But if you want even more function (and for free), I suggests this one ( FastStone Image Viewer - Powerful and Intuitive Photo Viewer, Editor and Batch Converter ). It is amazing what you can do with it. But if you want even more function, there is always Gimp ( GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program ).
