Vista - ESET Smart Security v4.0.437

In few days the license of my ESET NOD32 Antivirus expires.
So im thinking this time to buy and try the
ESET Smart Security v4.0.437
Did you ever try that?
If yes,did you ever face any problems/erros with it?
Any conflicts?
Are you happy with it?
Whats ur opinion?

been using eset av for years been using smart security since it came out and ive kept it up to date and had zero issues on 64 bit 10

just make sure you set the firwall to interactive filtering mode not automatic after a few days the popups will stop as it learns what you will and wont allow , its a little too lenient in automatic mode

the antivirus is exactly the same you get the addition of a firewall and antispyware/antispam module (although i think you get the antispyware with the AV now anyway) so just an additional firewall

I have installed VistaCodecs_v541
And when i scan with my ESET Smart Security v4.0.437 is recognize it as potentially unwanted application.
Do you ever face the same problem?
A!Btw did you know how to backup and restore the firewall rules?
I dont want to start from the beginning the next time i will format or full restore my pc.

yes i have had a false positive (when it detects a threat thats not actually a threat) once before with eset i knew the app was safe so i added it to the exceptions list (ignore list) for subsequent scans. Afetr reporting it to eset though they have removed the issue

as for backing up settings make sure your in advanced mode then top right select setup then inport/export settings you can save your current config as an XML file

1)ESET Smart Security v4.0.437 include a firewall.
Wndows Vista include a firewall.
Is that ok to have 2 firewalls or i must disable the one?and which one?

2)Do i realy need Windows Defender now or is better to disable it?

Beware of the ESET firewall if you share computers over a network. The firewall will become a pain in the a s s then. However, it is said that the new module has some improvements over it. Still i didnt find any change. But you can always try it for 30 days before you make a decision.
