3D Analyze Emulates Hardware T&L?

So I recently heard about a program called "3D Analyze" and apparently it can emulate Hardware T&L using power from your system, not your graphics. I don't really no much more about it beyond that point. My crappy graphics chipset (Intel Gma 3100 G33) doesn't support Hardware T&L, has only pixel shader 2.0 and doesn't have vertex shaders.

So, my point is, I want to know what this program does, as I don't fully understand...when it emulates Hardware T&L, does it just bypass any checks for oHardware T&L in software, or does it just create actual Hardware T&L?

If possible, I would also like to know more about what it does.

Any help would be appreciated.
