I have used this program since 2001; last week I couldn't open my files and discovered that Office XP was no longer available. I tried to re-install from my CD but got an error message -- Error 1406. Setup cannot write the value to the registry key 1CLS1D\{13DE4A42-8D21-4C8E-BF9C-8F69CB068FCA}.
I cannot find the program in 'All Programs' and I have tried all the suggestions and programs suggested on-line except for the technical advice. I am not skilled enough to attempt those.
If it is true that "everything is in there", how do I go about finding it to repair it or delete it and start over from the CD? The other question is what happened to the original software?
